The Papua New Guinea government is planning to acquire more custom land and allow foreign companies to exploit it, two international NGOs say.
Large swathes of land are already alleged to be illegally under the control of foreign loggers and miners.
A recent land summit has been dubbed a further land grab by the NGOs Jubilee Australia and the Oakland Institute.
Jubilee Australia's Luke Fletcher says it's a dangerous attack on PNG's unique customary land tenure system.
