About Voices from Africa

The Oakland Institute launched the Voices from Africa interactive website to serve as an online clearinghouse for information on genetic engineering in African agriculture and as a space to explore true solutions for food sovereignty across the continent through articles, press releases, commentary, and reports from African NGOs and partner organizations and individuals around the world.

As an interactive web community, Voices from Africa invites visitors to create a personal account and post new articles and information, comment on posted articles, and also discuss topics of interest in the user forums. In uniting activists from across the globe, we encourage sharing news and updates from the latest campaigns against GMOs and forging coordinated strategy for fostering food sovereignty and influencing policy discussions.
