With profits increasingly threatened by rising fuel prices, airlines are turning to biofuels both to reduce costs and to give the industry a sustainable image. But the consequences for people in the global south will be disastrous according to a recent report by the Oakland Institute. Lukas Ross is author of the recent report Eco-Skies: The Global Rush for Aviation Biofuel. He speaks with Redeye host Jane Williams.
