She is a lead author of the UN-sponsored International Assessment of Agricultural Knowledge, Science and Technology for Development (IAASTD). Before joining PANNA in 1996, Ishii-Eiteman worked in Asia and Africa in rural development projects for over 12 years, facilitating government-farmer-NGO collaborations on sustainable agriculture in Southeast Asia, and developing a farmer-based pest management education project in Thailand.

Anna Lappé is a national bestselling author, a good food activist, and a mom. A founding principal of the Small Planet Institute and Small Planet Fund, her latest book is Diet for a Hot Planet: The Climate Crisis at the End of Your Fork and What You Can Do About It (Bloomsbury). Anna is also the co-author of Hope's Edge, with her mother Frances Moore Lappé, and Grub: Ideas for an Urban Organic Kitchen with Bryant Terry. She can be seen on the PBS series, The Endless Feast, in Sundance Channel's Big Ideas for a Small Planet, and in other film and TV programming on food and sustainability. An active board member of Rainforest Action Network, Anna has been named one of Time's "eco" Who's Who and has been featured in The New York Times, Rachael Ray Everyday, O Magazine, Food & Wine, and Body & Soul, among many others. She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and daughter.
